Alan was born in Illinois where he was raised on a farm. While he worked as a truck driver, he traveled 47 states and Canada. When he retired off of the road in 1988, he moved to Georgia since he feels that Georgia has the things that most people want: mountains, ocean, and warm sun. He says that he does not miss the cold and snow.

He is now employed by Southeast Culvert in Winder, GA. Alan got involved in the theatre by chance when he walked into a meeting one Sunday afternoon and was told to come back later for auditions. He came back for auditions, and the rest is history.
